Thing #23 On Line Evaluation
Finished the evaluation this afternoon. There are so many more things that I want to do when time permits. I feel I have gained some knowledge but wish to delve into some of the things more thoroughly. Sometimes the steps took hours and some were very easy.

Thing #22 Staying Current
Just joined "Craftster " this morning for quilting. Now I am waiting for my quilt that I made for a granddaughter to come back from the quilter. It was my winter project and then I will add a picture for others to see. Also, I started making a calendar from "Big Huge Labs." I believe this will be something that I will use quite a bit. Just heard from someone that I had commented on in her beautiful sunset in Gather.

Thing #21 Other Social Networks
Have tried many times today (Sunday) trying to get into Gather and Ning with passwords. No success. Hoping that it is just a matter of being busy. Will try tomorrow or later, but I did find some things in Gather that I was impressed with. I read about the MN National Guard person tell about deployment and riding the Black Hawk helicopter. There are 2 people that I know about that I would like to communicate with also.

Thing #20 Facebook, My Space
I had signed up for Facebook a while ago. When listening to some kids around town talking about adding a picture to it, I found something from our vicinity about the jolly green giant. But, as a whole, I am not going to enter into this. And, My Space, it is really the good, the bad and the ugly. When I heard of a really dreadful thing that happened to someone I know, it is not my cup of tea. Even my young granddaughter questioned me about going into My Space.

Thing #19 Podcasts
Reviewed a couple podcasts in PBS - Jane Austen series and one on retirement, but that one was like 55 minutes long, and I didn't have that much time to spend on it. I don't own an iPod, but was able to hear the Joel Ostien audio and music when our kids were at our house. Very interesting!

Thing #18 You Tube & other Networks
I have watched and listened to the 28,000 people at the March of the Librarians at least 4 times and cannot spot a MN librarian in the crowds going up and down escalators and walking the floors. Of course, I do not know many librarians outside of TDS. I looked for name tags, familiar faces but to no avail. I hope that it is just not something that I should be looking for. Now I am going into WCCO and listen to the organ at the Cathedral in St. Paul.

Thing #17 ELM Productivity Tools
Yesterday, I went into ELM data base and found that there are 15 data bases from 5 different vendors in the electronic library for MN. A division of Ebsco publishing has NoveList where there are 150,000 fiction titles. In March now, 50,000 non-fiction readable titles will be addes. The historical fiction catagory is without racial or gender biases and there is no violence. I appreciate that. In Kids info bits, I found many articles that really impressed me. I do want to go deeper into this area because I have grandchildren who read alot and I myself, love to look at the kids side of things too.
